The Washington D.C. Chapter offers a model of how ASSIST can organize itself in urban hubs in which our Scholars and alumni reside (possibly Dallas, New York, Philadelphia).

News from D.C.: ASSIST ropes course adventurers! This Fall, ASSIST Scholars had a great day hanging out (literally) in the woods. It was an impressive group working challenges out together. Good planning, nice execution -- especially getting the group over the bar up in the trees. And everyone did the Zipline through the treetops! Here is my question to you all: Which is harder? Stepping off the zipline platform into the air or stepping onto an airplane to spend the year in the US? Let me know. Cathy Tinsley, Washington Chapter Chair, ASSIST Board Member.

News from Dallas: On November14th, 16 people (scholars, host families, and school representatives) enjoyed coming together at a reception hosted by St. Mark's School. Initial discussion began about coordinating the four schools in the area into a Chapter with a second planned event this Spring. Marsha McFarland, St. Mark's, will play a key role. Cathy Tinsley, ASSIST Board member, attended.
