ASSIST's Summer Programs provided two incredible opportunities for faculty and students of member schools to study and travel abroad. Teachers spent a week in June at the Teachers Workshop on European Unity in Brussels, Belgium. A group of rising sophomores, juniors and seniors participated in the Olomouc Summer Institute for Young Leaders in the Czech Republic. This latter program ran from July 6 through August 5, 2006. Students took part in classes focusing on global issues, leadership, political science, or ecology.

Here's what participants are saying about ASSIST's Summer Programs:

Teachers Workshop in Brussels, Belgium
"What a wonderful program! This was an experience I will never forget!" - Ann Borne, Canterbury School (IN)

"A great opportunity to meet with teachers and discuss curriculum issues and approaches." - Margaret Hoeger, Washington International School, (DC)

Olomouc Summer Institute for Young Leaders in the Czech Republic

"I took Leadership…. The class was just wonderful and Jack Tyrer is simply his own best example of a great leader. …. I got to learn a good deal about leadership, communication, about others and myself. "Through OSI (and from the wonderful friends I made there) I learned so much more about myself and how others see me. Such a value!" - Andrew Skitko, The Hill School, PA
