Welcome to ASSIST in South Africa
ASSIST became active in South Africa to help young South African students who would like to spend one year as exchange students in the United States as 11th graders. Candidates finishing 10th grade in December 2011 are eligible for the 2012/13 academic year in the U.S. We work primarily in partnership with the independent schools in South Africa.
Our work in South Africa began in 2009. It is through the generosity and support of our partner, the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA), that the competition is made possible.
