Welcome to ASSIST China
ASSIST became active in China to help young Chinese students currently in the 10th or 11th grades who would like to spend one year as exchange students in the United States as 11th graders.
Our work in China began initially in the 1985/86 academic year and resumed more recently for the 2006/07 academic year. Our first Chinese scholars distinguished themselves in their American independent schools, and ultimately 90 Chinese students have studied in the States under our auspices.
Our work in China is undertaken in partnership with The Taft School, The Loomis Chaffee School, and The Berkshire School.
Application Process for 2012/13 Scholarships
In China, ASSIST works exclusively through four eminent Chinese partner schools:
- The High School Affiliated to Fudan University
- Suzhou High School
- The Experimental High School Attached to Beijing Normal University
- Beijing No. 4 High School
If you are a student of one of these four schools, please contact your school leaders to learn of scholarship opportunities and the competition process.
