The Förderverein

Förderverein
für den deutsch-amerikanischen
Schüleraustausch e.V.

Founded in 1982, the “ASSIST Association for the Promotion of German-American Student Exchange” aims to ensure that the maximum number of highly talented and performing students who have been selected for the ASSIST program from Germany can enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime experience of an exchange year at some of the best private schools in the United States.  Upon individual request, the “Förderverein’s” material and individual assistance enables needy students to stem the cost of their U.S. experience.

In the more than 25 years of its existence, the “Förderverein” has supported over 290 scholars from Germany with a total of almost one million US-$.  In the last ten years alone, the “Förderverein” has given more than 500,000 USD.

The “Förderverein’s” resources come from members’ fees and contributions as well as donations from individuals and entities.  Due to the current economic situation and the increased demand for financial help, our efforts to increase the association’s financial resources are strong, and we are grateful for every new member and donor willing to contribute to the mission of the “Förderverein” and of ASSIST.  As a charitable foundation, giving to the “Förderverein” is tax-deductible in Germany.  If you would like to become a part of our efforts to make the dream of an ASSIST experience become reality for as many German scholars as possible, please contact the “Förderverein” at assist-foerderverein@web.de, or visit the ASSIST Germany website at http://www.assist-online.net.
