Welcome to ASSIST Hungary
ASSIST Hungary was established to help young Hungarian students currently in the 10th grade who would like to spend one year as exchange students in the United States as 11th graders. There are also some opportunities available for students entering the 10th and 12th grades and as postgraduate students.
Our work in eastern and central Europe began in Hungary in the 1990/91 academic year with the support of the Open Society Institute and Soros Foundation. Our first Hungarian scholars distinguished themselves in their American independent schools, and ultimately 148 Hungarian students have studied in the States under our auspices.
New Financial Support for Hungarian Scholars
American schools are generous in offering scholarships to ASSIST students. Throughout our time in Hungary, ASSIST has identified sponsors to help students and their families pay for the cost of participating in the program. Hungarian alumni and American donors have joined together to support deserving Scholars.
Please read the "Family Financial Declaration" for more news about this generous opportunity.
